The Study Program/major in Nutrition and Feed Science (PS-INP) comes from PS Animal Science (PS PTK) held from 1975 – 2007. In accordance with the development of science and the needs of human resources in the field of feed and nutrition, PS INP was established on March 22, 2007. PS INP is a frontier graduate program for master (S2) and doctoral (S3) with major competencies in tropical feed and nutrition. PS INP students come from various institutions, both government and private in the country, as well as some from abroad (Malaysia and the Netherlands). Since 2012, the INP Study Program has received Accreditation A from BAN PT.
Master Program
The program offers Master Degree (Magister Sains – M.Si) in Animal Science. The length of study is 4 semesters normally and maximum extending is 8 semesters with a minimum credit is 39 credits.

Admission Requirements
B.Sc in Animal Science with GPA ≥ 2,75 (Scale 0-4), or GPA ≥ 6,25 (scale 0-10), and GPA < 2,75 by considering the work performances.
Doctor
The program offers Doctor degree (Doktor – Dr.) in Nutrition and Feed Science.

The Doctoral Study Program in Nutrition and Feed Science is under the Nutritional anf Feed Technology Department Faculty Animal Science, which oriented towards academic education with the competence to create and renew/originality in research/research-based science, knowledge and technology. - Exploration and identification of potential local resources as tropical feed ingredients,
- Metabolism of nutrients in the body of livestock optimally and sustainably,
- Utilization of potential microorganisms and soil biological agents to increase production and quality of feed crops,
- Regulation of nutritional processes involving the role of hormones and the nervous system as well as enzyme control
- Quantification, mapping, linkage assessment, modeling and utilization of nutritional variables
- Engineering feed, both forage and concentrates that have functional properties,
- The relationship between the immune system and the physiological condition of livestock, as well as discussing the relationship between nutritional status, infection and immunity,

Curriculum and Length of Study
It is a program with proposal development, seminars, defend, and additional lectures. The length of study is design on 6 (six) semesters normally and maximum extending is 10 (ten) semesters The Doctoral Study Program curriculum is held with a minimum credit is 41 credits. The Doctoral Study Program follows under the provisions of the IPB Post Graduate School (SPS) which consists of 4 (four) Stages.
